We Care About Education

BBC School Report

School Report1

Year 9 pupils have been working diligently over the past few weeks in their Drama classes preparing their news reports for BBC News School Report Day on 16th March. Pupils spent time learning about how to plan a news story and write interview questions, before filming the interviews and editing them into a news report on iPads.

We were also delighted to have the BBC visit the school on 13 March to record an audio broadcast of pupils and teachers giving their opinions on the  topic “Is homework necessary?”  This recording was aired on Radio Ulster on 16March at 7.20 am.

The excitement continued as 15 lucky Year 9 pupils were given the opportunity to travel to BBC studios in Belfast to take part in the studio audience of the live BBC News School Report show. In the words of Ebony Dickson and Harmony Hamilton this experience was “inspirational and at the same time educational”.
