Head of House – Ms A Smith
A second image, a sheaf of wheat is reflective of the importance of agriculture to the local economy. Many pupils come from farming backgrounds and there is a deep appreciation for the traditions and endeavour of members of the farming community, and an appreciation for the environment amongst these children. We would seek to extend this to all members of this house. The theme for this house will be ‘honest endeavour’ reflecting the hard work of our farming community and the importance of their labour for all of us. The school is built on the Crevenagh Road and the school grounds and surrounding land, though now urban, would have been farmland of local landowners. Part of the school grounds contained an orchard for a local landowner. This house will be named Crevenagh.

On Tuesday 24 October Crevenagh House, led by Miss Smith organised a thought-provoking assembly centred on the theme of generosity and the difference saying thank you can make. Guest minister Canon Irwin shared with us the message that when you give either with provisions or talents with a full heart then you are often equally richly blessed in life. We were fortunate to have members of the local community with us to receive the food bags with food items donated from all pupils over the month. Thank you to all those who took part in the assembly for their readings and to Mr Linton for coordinating the musical items.
