OHS vs Erne - 5th Feb 2024

Omagh High School and Erne Integrated play out seven-goal thriller in the McMullan Shield.

A scintillating display from Omagh High School U-14 football captain Jake W was the highlight in a seven-goal thriller against Erne Integrated College at Campsie Playing Fields on Monday 5th February. Jake led by example and really took the game to Erne, singlehandedly resurrecting hope in a game that looked dead and buried at 0-2 down at half time. After an inspiring half time team talk by the virtuoso skipper, the team rallied with Finn H, Bobby I, and Blake C raising their performance levels and linking up well in the middle of the field and playing some clinical, defence splitting passes. The Erne back line could not cope with the Omagh onslaught with Jake W slotting home two magnificent goals with great aplomb in quick succession before completing his hat-trick and claiming the match ball. A much more positive performance from the team today, particularly the second half display, and something to build upon going into the final game of the McMullan Shield campaign against Drumragh following the mid-term break. Man of the match was Jake W but also some fabulous performances by Bobby I, Oliver D, Antoni Z and Finn H as well as an excellent debut from Dylan K.
