Rutledge shines against Castlederg High

Our U-14 football team returned to action this week in the third match of their 2023-2024 McMullan Shield campaign. Coming so soon after the Fivemiletown fixture it was a great opportunity for the team to regroup and put in a strong performance in the back yard of one of our old foes, Castlederg High. Historically, matches against Castlederg have been evenly contested with the home advantage normally proving to be the all-important factor in the outcome of the game. One player in particular really shone through from an Omagh High School perspective and that was Matthew M, wearing the school jersey and badge with immense pride giving his all from kick off to the final whistle. Matthew was outstanding today, even receiving high praise from the opposing coaching staff following the games conclusion. Unfortunately, the result went against the boys us but other very impressive displays nonetheless from Zach L, Bobby I, Matthew McF and Oliver D.

Our next fixture is to be played on Monday 5th February against Erne Integrated College on Campsie Playing Fields, kick off 11.00am in a must win match for both sides so it should prove to be a great spectacle for all those involved and for the neutrals. Feel free to come along and cheer the team on if you are available to do so.
