Sports Days 2021 – Monday 14th June – Thursday 17th June 2021
Sports Day at Omagh High School took on a whole new look this year, down mainly to the adaptations schools have endured since the Covid-19 pandemic. However, this was not going to stop the pupils of Omagh High School having their Sports Day. This year, instead of having only one one day, whereby all pupils descended on to Campsie Playing fields for the traditional track and field events, the pupils in each year group had their own designated day to carry out their programme of events.
The advantages of this, was that all pupils had the opportunity to enter all events, which made the Sports Days more inclusive and competitive for the entire year groups.
There was an extremely competitive edge to the competitions, with many House points up for grabs for those placed Gold, Silver or bronze in each event. After lunch each day, the pupils all gathered in their respective year groups to attend the presentation of medals to the prize winners in front of their peers.
The week concluded with House matches for both Hockey and Football for each year group. Once again, these games proved to be very competitive and played on great spirit, with valuable House points up for grabs.
A great week had by all.
